Elf auf dem Regal
Thanks to Dalton talking about Wizby so much last year, this year the kids' school also has an Elf on the Shelf. His name is Elfi which I find amusing as "elf" is eleven in German (it's also the word for elf too though). And...at our campus...all the classes are called, like, "3e" or "5e" so I sometimes call him "11e" because I'm hilarious like that.
Another amusing (and also sad, really) part of the story is that when Elfi showed up at the school in a random unlabeled brown package, Autumn (and some of the other kids) apparently thought it might a bomb. :( Sad, isn't it? Ah, the world we live in.
He has many silly antics like doing yoga in the yoga room or T.P.'ing the school's Christmas tree. The morning Easton saw the tree he said, "They totally got that from us!" The boys believe our Wizby is real but that 11e is a fake. Kids.
But, how fun to share some of our traditions with our international friends!
Our own elf has been up to his regular mild shenanigans.
I will have to come back at some point and share more of our Weihnachtszeit. The kids have school through Tuesday the 22nd...and go back the 4th! (They had 11 days--I mean, elf days off school PLUS three weekends (17 days total) for the fall break, but only get 12 days total for Christmas. Go figure.)
